Bike month is back this May!

May is National Bike Month and we’re ready to celebrate all things biking in Auburn. Whether you’re an Auburn local or someone who loves visiting and riding our roads and trails, we have something for you!

Bike Month Basics

🥳 Kick Off Party

Sunday May 3rd, 3PM - 7PM at Auburn Bike Park

The first Sunday of May is our Bike Month Kick Off Party at Auburn Bike Park! Come celebrate your love of bikes with us! We’ll have games, food, drink, and beer to purchase, and of course lots of biking fun! All ages are welcome.

🚴 Bike Month Challenge

Sunday May 1st - Friday May 29th

For our month-long contest this year, simply create a free Strava profile, join the Auburn Trails Alliance Strava Club, and then ride, ride, ride throughout the month of May.

We’ll keep track of different leaderboard categories and will award the winners prizes! Everyone who participates will be given three free general raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes at the Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party.

🎟️ Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party

Saturday May 30th, 6PM - 9PM at Old Town Pizza and Two Ass Brewing

To wrap up the month, we’re throwing an awesome block party in Auburn between Old Town Pizza and Two Ass Brewing! Join us at our biggest fundraiser of the year for fun trivia and awesome raffle prizes. Grab food and a beer and test your knowledge!

Trivia is free for all attendees and raffle tickets can be purchased at the event.

🍻 Speaker Series

Every Wednesday in May, 6:30PM at Auburn Ale House

Throughout the month of May, we’ll be gathering at Auburn Ale House on Wednesday evenings to hear from our local experts. Dig into the history of the Western States, learn about bikepacking, e-bikes, and more. Check out the full list of speakers and topics.

A percentage of all food and beverage sales will go towards Auburn Trails Alliance!

🥳 Kick Off Party

Sunday May 3rd, 3PM - 7PM at Auburn Bike Park

What better way for us to kick things off than fun and games at Auburn Bike Park!

  • Bring your bike to show us your skills! Simply come to ride the park with friends, or - if you’re feeling saucy - compete in the Jump Jam, the Bunny Hop Contest, or the Pump Track Challenge!

  • Groove to the music while you check out our vendors and the newly rebuilt pump track!

  • Bring friends and family - big and small, young and old - all are welcome

  • Food, drinks, and beer will all be there, available for purchase. The delicious Outlaw Cuisine food truck will be joining us and you should know that any refreshing beer you consume on the day of was officially donated by the amazing Station Public House!

  • Free Bike Valet will be provided

  • Every person who attends will get a free raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes at our Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party at the end of the month

  • Please arrive to the Bike Park via Maidu Drive to respect the neighbors who support our incredible park in their backyard

🚴 Bike Month Challenge

Sunday May 1st - Friday May 29th

Record your rides on Strava for a chance to win prizes!

Join our month long challenge on your own, with your friends and family, or even co-workers! This challenge is designed to celebrate all things biking, to get you active during the month of May, and - of course - motivate you with a little leaderboard competition!

Ride your bike on the trails, to work, to school, indoors, or just around town. It all counts!

Every participant will get 3 free raffle tickets for our Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party and the people who log the most miles will win prizes!

We’ll announce the final leaderboards on the Auburn Trails Alliance Strava Club page on Saturday May 30th and award prizes later that day at the Block Party.

The last day to log your rides on Strava will be Friday May 29th!

Join the challenge

First, sign up for Strava

Just download the app in your app store of choice and follow the instructions!

Next, join the club

In the app, navigate to Groups then search for ‘Auburn Trails Alliance’ and join the club.

Once you join, our admin, Jacks Odom Beetzio, will request to follow you. And make sure your privacy settings are set so that Everyone can see your activities! Your rides won’t show up on the club page if you don’t.

Record your rides!

Use the Strava app on your phone or via a connected fitness device to record your rides. We will keep track of everyone on our leaderboards automagically!

Win awesome prizes!

All participants will get 3 raffle tickets to use at the Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party. The leader in each category wins a special prize package filled with biking goodies! Prizes will be given to the winners at the Block Party on Saturday, May 30th.

Commuters, make sure to name or mark your commute rides as “commuting” so we can keep track!

E-bikers, please make sure to name or mark your rides as “e-biking” to keep it fair!

  • Every participant who records at least one ride with the Auburn Trails Alliance Strava from May 1st - May 29th will earn 3 raffle tickets to win prizes at the Trivia Night and Raffle Block Party. Participants must pick up their tickets at the Block Party.

  • Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the event. $20 gets you 10 red tickets and 1 blue ticket. Red tickets can win regular prize packages and the blue tickets can win the grand prize.

  • Arrive at the Block Party between 6PM and 7:15PM to receive your earned raffle tickets.

  • At 7:30PM we will announce the challenge winners and then start pulling tickets for the raffle. All ages can participate in the raffle. You have to be present to win!

Every Wednesday in May, 6:30PM at Auburn Ale House

Auburn Alehouse is supporting Auburn Trails alliance with their Pints with a Purpose program! We receive a percentage of all sales from food and beverage purchased at Auburn Alehouse every Wednesday in May.

Gather with friends, get some delicious food and drink, and learn about exciting topics. It all goes toward supporting our community!

Commuter E-Biking: Ditch the Car and Feel the Mountain Air!

E-Biking around town is easer (and way more fun) than you think! Join our speaker series, led by A-Town Bikes, to learn e-biking basics and see how an e-bike can change the way you move through the foothills.

Trail E-Biking: Curious? We can’t blame you.

E-Bikes let you hit the climbs, explore farther, and unlock more trail days! Join our speaker series, led by Victory Velo Bike Shop, to learn tips for owning and maintaining an e-bike from riders who know the terrain. Get the inside scoop on trail etiquette and rules so you can ride smarter and keep our trails awesome!

Intro to Bikepacking: Local Trips and Packing Specifics

Come learn from the experts from Bicycle Emporium about local bikepacking trips and what exactly you'll need to pack for such an adventure. We did this talk last year and it was such a hit, we knew we had to offer it again. Dare to dream! Come find out what it takes to train and plan for some of the greatest adventures you’ll ever have.

🎉 Trivia and Raffle Block Party

Saturday May 30th, 6PM - 9PM at Old Town Pizza and Two Ass Brewing

Come join us for great food and drink, fun trivia, and a chance to win awesome raffle prizes!

We’re taking over Hoffman Ave between Old Town Pizza and Two Ass Brewing in Auburn to host a rad block party celebrating Auburn Bike Month. All proceeds for this event go towards our work in and around town, including maintaining the Auburn Bike Park.

Everyone is welcome at this event and free Bike Valet Service will be on site in case you want to ride to the party. Food, drink, and beer will be available for purchase.

Two Ass Brewing is the best and only Downtown Auburn neighborhood brewery! Two Ass will have a Block Party Booth for you to purchase their delicious beer, but you can also go straight into their brewery to purchase drinks, if the outside line gets too long!

Old Town Pizza By The Slice

Old Town Pizza is a favorite here in Auburn and all over Placer County, and it’s easy to understand why! Their pizzas are irresistible! They will selling pizza by the slice at our block party, but you can also order at their take out window or online.

Yeti Tavern Ice Cream

Yeti Tavern doesn’t just serve ice cream. It delivers an experience. And lucky us! We get to offer you scoops of some of their fantastic flavors.

Raffle

  • If you participated in the Bike Month Challenge, then your 3 free raffle tickets will be waiting for you at the event.

  • Pick up, purchase, and play your raffle tickets between 6PM and 7:15PM.

Trivia

  • Trivia starts at 6:30PM and ends at 7:30PM. The theme is Auburn and Trails. Anyone can participate!

  • Play trivia on your phone at your own pace, by yourself or with a team.

  • No app is needed! Just scan a QR code posted at the event and use your phone’s browser.

  • Top three teams will get a prize!
